October Breast Cancer Awareness Event

We would like to formally invite all of you to our first ever “Press for Breasts” event on October 28, 2018 at 9A sharp! This special event was created to join the masses in honoring and acknowledging the many women who are currently fighting and/or have lost their lives to this terrible disease. Half of all proceeds and half of all SPS apparel sales will go to Mary’s Place By The Sea in Ocean Grove, NJ. Furthermore, donations will be accepted at the event as well.

There will be a competition between members, staff, and newcomers to start off the morning! ALL ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE! DJ Swoosh will be on the turntables keeping the vibe and energy high, Eat Clean Bro will be catering the event with their notorious snacks and delicious platters, and the SPS staff and family will be on hand to make this a special day, as we bring the community together for this great cause. Fee: $45 per team of 3 ($15 per person)

Teams: 12 MAX

  1. Breast Press

Time Cap: 7 minutes

Weights: M – 135 lbs., 185 lbs., 225 lbs.  F – 45 lbs., 75 lbs., 105 lbs.

*Each team will choose one weight unless the team is co-ed. Once the clock starts one member of the team will begin the bench press. The bar must touch the chest and there must be a full lockout at the top. Grip width, and feet may be placed wherever the athlete feels comfortable. One spotter used, but once the spotter touches the bar, the rep does NOT count. Team members may switch at any point during the 7 minutes. Team with the most accumulated reps wins!

  1. Brute Force

Time Cap: 20 minutes

Weights: M – 105 lbs Brute Ball  F – 65 lbs. Brute Ball

   M – Black Sandbag or Green  F – Red or Blue Sandbag

  • Brute Ball Lap, Load, & Toss x90 yards (can only tap out on START side)
  • Cleans x100
  • Squats-to-MB x100
  • S2S x100
  • Plate Burpees x100
  • 1600 meters (4×400 meters)

*The team can decide which member does which event. There will be an element every 5 yards. This is a CHIPPER workout, you may not move onto the next task until that task is complete.

  1. Building 700

Time Cap: 20 minutes

Weights: M/F 30 lbs.

  • Row 300 calories
  • Sled Push 400 yards
